sandals are my favourite type of shoe.. wait...who am i kidding, thats a lie. everyone knows i'm obsessed with pumps.. but flats come in at a close second! i love the feeling of a "barely there" flat! it's the perfect summer shoe. a great sandal does what any great accessory does - wake up an otherwise boring outfit, or add the perfect finishing touch. 

this years' sandal fashion seems a lot simpler. out are the romanesque gladiators of past seasons, and in are more subdued versions, of course in this summer's trending colours. look for flats with subtle details such and intricate leather work (like in the steve madden pair above), studs or beading. check out the links to great flats above and below for flats under $50.
if you aren't looking for a flat to last multiple seasons check out forever 21. they  have cute sandals starting at about $7. they're not the best quality but at only $7 its ok. i have 3/4 pairs from them myself. 4 pairs of sandals for $30. hells yeah! im only wearing them this summer!

Tip: cheaper flats tend to be a bit uncomfortable after a few hours,as they lack adequate support. try placing dr.scholls gel pads under the sole and heels to cushion your feet. they're like magic!
