the diva reflects - spain aka the catalyst...

so it's the end of the year and it's a thursday... so this post seems appropriate.. the ultimate TBT! i wanted to close out the year reflecting on how i ended up here..  not the existential sense, but the actions that led me to where i now call home-distrito federal (aka mexico city.)

when i think about it, spain was the trip that changed everything. after living and travelling asia for 5+ years, i had become too "comfortable". i mean, it was a comfortable existence: good job, decent salary, comfortable life, but
i wasn't HAPPY- but i was also scared to leave.

Sevilla, Spain

spain did it. i made my way to the iberian peninsula for vacation last year, and that trip changed my life. i know that sounds cliched, but it really did- i had an epiphany of sorts. i don't know if it was the climate, the food or the sexy bearded spaniards...but by the time the plane landed at kansai international airport my mind was racing. as soon as I got home i called a friend who lived in valencia at the time and sought her advice... and together we figured out how i could spain.. and that's what i did. it wasn't what i expected to say the least, and it wasn't an easy change.. (more ont hat later) but in retrospect, it was  what i needed. it led me to where i am.  sometimes you just have to jump.
