stressed out diva: take a bath

muscles tense? nagging headache that won't go away? insomnia plaguing you? then you're probably stressed out. i sure am. one of my guilty pleasures is going to the spa. i love being pampered as the masseuse rubs the oils into my tense muscles and the world melts away. but spas can get expensive ( the good ones anyway, and we're on a budget) and while i suppose it's possible to massage yourself, that'll probably just make you more tired... and it's also kinda lame. (fail!) so whats a stressed out diva to do?! take a bath! no, not a shower, a bath bath, like they used to in the good old days.

while i am a fan of the bubble bath, when i want to de-stress i reach for the  bath salts  and essential oils. BodyShop's green tea bath salts are one of my favs. the health benefits of green tea are numerous. its good for your insides, your outsides and its relaxing.

this could soon be you (image:http://www.gettyimages.com)
essential oils   such as lavender and chamomile are great for relaxing before bed. add a few drops to your bath water and pillow and you'll sleep like a baby. stress? what stress?

but if you don't have a bath tub, don't despair! this is where body-scrubs with special magical healing powers come in (i'm not making it up, they ARE magic!). i'm not talking about regular old st ives or neutrogena body scrub here. leave those for some other time when you couldn't care less. im talking abt the fantastic "be somebody" by philosphy or the africa ximenia salt scrub  also from BodyShop. these scrubs leave your skin feeling renewed and your senses calmed.

of course after a bath one needs to  moisturize , as you are probably all pruney from that awesome bath. be sure to add the moisture back into your skin with a rich cream or oil such as white gardenia body cream or the polynesia monoi miracle oil both from BodyShop as well.
So take a bath, have a glass of wine. and if you still somehow manage to be stressed after that amazing bath/shower, theres always kes. "sip yuh wine and wine (dance)". its impossible to be stressed out when soca is playing. it's the official happy music.

happy bathing!
