this diva is originally from an island of the tropical persuasion... winter and i are not friends ..at all. but finally, after 4 mths of snow, blizzards and weather that i can only describe as apocalyptical, spring is here. it's still a bit chilly but the snow is melting. (happy dance)... so as i'm getting ready to shove my winter coat back into the closet.. i'm wondering... what am i gonna wear this spring!
with brights being the predicted trend, the spring 2012 runway was set off with bursts of colour here and there (loveddd proenza schouler's collection!) but given that i'm on a BUDGET, i'm not about to run out an get all new clothes just to be on trend... but i will not be left behind! i found that one way to diversify or change things up a bit, is by using great accessories. the right accessory can make a turn an outfit form dull to trendy. and the great thing about accessories are that they can always be reused, and paired with different outfits to create a new look next season.
so what do we do with all these spring brights? bring that dull outfit to life with colourful accessories. wearing brown or taupe? wake it up with topshops teal holdall bag. a boring black and white outfit comes alive with a pop of sunny yellow like the shopper above, and you can always add flair to a suit with a cute scarf. as a plus, bright colours like these are said to brighten our mood, so you'll not just look great, but feel great as well. now go add some colour to your wardrobe and work that "runway" like you own it!
